Mummy was waiting nervously for the clock to strike 12 on 8 October. Her task was to book the Aloha Loyang Chalet for Jaden's 1-year-old birthday party next year. Mummy had set eyes on the pool terrace chalet and had even went to recee the place with Daddy and Jaden about a month ago.
Yah, Mummy is being kaisu here. But, hey these chalets are very popular and are usually booked way beforehand. Furthermore, the chalets can only be booked exactly 3 months before the actual date. This explains why Mummy specially stayed up late to do the booking, as the clock struck 12.
Mummy had a slight scare when making the booking just now. When Mummy logged in, the system showed that her preferred chalet unit was already being locked for booking. Mummy therefore had to settle for the 2nd choice unit instead. Then it got worse. Mummy realised that her Internet Explorer was not java-enabled and she couldn't key in the credit card details for payment. Attempts to download java was unsuccessful.
Mummy immediately cancelled the booking and tried to make a fresh booking using Firefox instead. To her pleasant surprise, the preferred chalet unit was now available; someone must have released it :) Without hesitation, Mummy make her selection and proceeded with the transaction with lighting speed.. Ha ha.. so drama :P But who cares, the important thing is we got our chalet!!!
You may say that Mummy is being super duper kaisu here. But hey, Mummy wasn't the only kaisu person around. Ten minutes after her booking, another 3 more chalets were booked! And mind you, it is 12.31am now. Mummy bets that all the pool terrace chalet units will be taken up the next day.
Mummy is now planning for Jaden's birthday party. More details coming soon! Oh, and cheers to Firefox!
Some time ago, Daddy brought a toy dog for Jaden. It is a dog that will bark and move. Since Jaden loves moving objects, Daddy thought that the toy dog will amuse his little prince.
As expected, Jaden wasn't afraid of the toy. But he wasn't too amused either. He just stared at the moving dog and even attempted to shove it away with his legs at times.
Last week was a bad week for Jaden. First, he fell off the bed on Tuesday. Second, he poked his eye on Saturday. Third, on Sunday, he hit his chin while crawling.
Falling off the bed / Hitting his chin
Well, such things do happen once in a while as Jaden gets more active and adventurous. Luckily, he was all right except for a little blue-black on the cheek.
Poke in the eye
During the weekend, Daddy and Mummy brought Jaden out for dinner with Godma Denise. All of a sudden, Jaden cried out loud. He had hurt himself with the pointed end of the menu while trying to flip the page. His cries were different from the usual "i want milk/sleep/carry" cry; he was crying from pain. After several minutes of soothing, Jaden calmed down and was back to his playful self.
At first, Mummy thought that Jaden has hurt his face but alas, it was worse. He had poked his eye as there was a red mark* in his left eye. It looked like a blood stain and looked pretty alarming. Daddy and Mummy decided to bring Jaden to KKH for a checkup.
Mummy was surprised to see a crowd at KKH Children Emergency Dept at around 10+ at night. We were given a queue number and a nurse will first assess the patient's condition. The nurse said that it was not necessary for Jaden to see a doctor immediately since he doesn't seem uncomfortable and there wasn't external bleeding. It was a busy night at the Emergency Dept and the waiting time would be about 2.5hrs. As it was already past Jaden's bedtime, Daddy and Mummy decided against waiting and will bring Jaden to his usual PD for a check.
Luckily, it was not as serious as it seems - a slight cut. Jaden was given some antibodies to prevent infection. It will heal and the red mark will fade after a while. The PD said that it was lucky that Jaden didn't hurt the pupil. From what Mummy understands, vision may be affected if the pupil suffered a cut, cos' there will be a scar on it after the cut heals.
Thank God, Jaden is fine.
There will be no more menu-playing for now.
*According to Google, the medical term is called subconjunctival hemorrhage.
This picture was taken one week after Jaden's haircut. He still looked nerdy then.
A week later, almost back to his pre-hair cut look :)
Look at Jaden's teeth.
