Hey, that's my toy!

Jaden is learning to play with toys now.

Mummy went to the Toy r Us sale just now and only managed to get one toy for Jaden. The rest of the toys aren't suitable for babies.

First Flip

Daddy and Mummy saw baby Jaden flip today. Last Friday, grandma told mummy that Jaden had flipped over for the first time. However, it was more like a 3/4 flip as his arm got stuck and needed help to move the other arm out. This is how the flip happened today...

Jaden was sucking his fingers and turned his body sideways.


Then he started kicking and tried to lift his head up. Mummy and Daddy noticed that he was trying to use his arm to push himself up. After about five minutes, Jaden managed to push himself up slightly. But not quite a complete flip yet...


Then, it happened! Jaden managed to push himself up and shift his other arm out. Yipee!!!


Jaden's face was all red after that. However, he doesn't seem tired from all that turning. As soon as he was placed on his back, he attempted to flip over again. He took a shorter time to achieve the 2nd flip.

Mummy thinks that Jaden's flips will just get quicker as he gets more practice and find out how to coordinate his arms and legs. 加油！

All Smiles :)

When Jaden was younger, he doesn't really smile a lot. He will usually just look on as daddy and mummy tries to amuse him.

Mummy thinks that Jaden probably finds all the cooing and mollycoddle weird and boring.

Now, this seems to contradict the post title, does it?

Mummy is pleased to announce that Jaden is more generous with his smiles now. Hurray!

He smiles, he giggles and he waves his arms in excitement. Jaden will always give a big smile when daddy and mummy talk to him. He will look intensely first and then smile sweetly. So cute...

Chest Up!

Jaden is now 3 months old. Mummy and daddy had been giving him tummy time regularly so as to strengthen his neck muscles. And now, Jaden can lift his head much higher :)

Finger licking good?

Jaden has been sucking his fingers lately, especially when nobody is playing with him. He seems to enjoy it very much and sometimes, you can even hear the thumb-sucking sound. Mummy had tried giving him the pacifier but Jaden will just spit it out.

Doctors and child experts said that thumb-sucking is fairly common and will not have any lasting effect on a child's teeth unless the problem persists even after the milk teeth have fallen off. Babies will usually drop the habit as they get older, probably when they are about 9 months.

Guess mummy will not make Jaden stop until he is ready to give it up on his own. Oh, and Jaden only sucks on his left thumb. Hmm...does it mean that he will be a lefty?

Head Up!

Babies really advance very quickly. One week, they can still be lying on their back and the next week, they may already be trying to flip over.


Daddy took this picture of Jaden last Sunday. Daddy had placed Jaden on his tummy and we noticed that Jaden can lift his head up slightly for a short while.

But look at Jaden today, he can hold his head up high for at least 5mins. Mummy is so proud of you :)

Play Time

What kind of toys will a 2 month old baby play? Although there are many toys that are meant for newborns, mummy felt that these toys are only useful when the baby is at least 3-4 months old. By then, the babies are more responsive to their surroundings and probably are more interested in whatever toys that are placed in front of them.

When mummy placed Jaden on this playmat about 1 month ago, he didn't show much interest. He just lays there, looking everywhere except the hanging toys. Within 15 minutes, he will be crying for attention.

But now, Jaden seems to be more aware of the hanging toys. He stares at them and his hands will hit at the toys once in a while. He can lay there for a good 45mins, entertaining himself with the toys and music.

Mummy thinks that the playmat will be more fun for Jaden when he starts reaching for the toys.

Bath Time

Jaden likes to have an early bath. Probably, he doesn't like the smell of milk or worse, pee on him too much :P

He will usually start whining for his bath at around 8plus in the morning.

Just put Jaden on the bed and he will wait patiently while mummy or grandma prepare his bathing stuff.

Jaden enjoys his bath alot. He doesn't cringe during bathing and in fact, he loves kicking the water with his legs. Mummy can't wait to bring him to the pool for a splashing good time. Mummy and Daddy plan to bring Jaden to the pool when he is about 6 months old.

Hello!

Introducing Baby Jaden... he is 2 months old now. This picture was taken when he was slightly less than one month old. Jaden has more or less settled into a routine which is a good thing as it make things more predictable. At least, mummy will have an easier time :)

This picture was taken last week. Jaden seems more chubby now :)

End of Procrastination...

I have finally put my plan into action. I have wanted to start a blog for baby Jaden even before he arrived. However, it never materalise till now. Jaden is already 2 months old.

But, I guess it is better late than never. Now, let's get this blog going...
